Weekly snapshots of my girls and life in general in 2015
Ines – She played two Tchaikovsky pieces at Carnegie Hall this past Friday. In her typical fashion, she approached her performance in an upbeat and lighthearted manner. Never a dull moment with this one.
Some of Ines’ supporters on Friday night
Chiara – She participated in her school’s piano recital at Montclair State University. Her beautiful piano piece, “Legend” by Russian composer Rakov, reminds me of an Italian movie from the ’50s. It’s melodious, nostalgic and full of drama with grand high notes as well as sad ones.
Both girls learned so much in piano this teacher with their piano teacher, Miss Liza. Unfortunately, she will be moving to California by the end of the month. I have not met a teacher who devoted so much of her outside teaching time to coaching and encouraging her students as much as she does. We will miss her terribly!
