LA To Do with Kids in Five Days or Less
Since we didn’t have that much time to spend in LA, we wanted to make the most of our stay and expose the girls to what sets LA apart from cities like New York, Chicago and Washington DC. I think we were able to really make the most of our five days in the city so I wanted to share with you my recommendations for future visit.
LACMA – Apart from visiting the Getty Center and Getty Villa, we also went to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. In true LA fashion, the museum sprawls into a few buildings with each one dedicated on a particular genre, mostly based on geography and culture. I particular like the colorful Americas wing, even for just pure aesthetic/color value.
All Things Hollywood – Because why not? A little like Times Square in NYC, it’s crowded and touristy but it’s not everyday you get to see where the stars walk on the red carpet.
Santa Monica Piers and Venice Beach – One must indulge in the kitschy culture found here. I joked with Richard that I feel like Venice Beach is like “Woodstock by the beach.”
Universal Studios – Fun, simulated rides where you get to meet some of your favorite movie characters. We even got to try out the new Harry Potter rides.
GenWa – Great Korean food in downtown LA, not too far from LACMA.
Flake – Our favorite breakfast place in Venice. It was good we had to come back twice.
Salt in Marina del Rey – This is where we had Easter lunch. You can eat by the marina even when it’s a little cool. The restaurant gives you blankets and a heat lamp to keep you warm and toasty. Everything we had was delicious!!
Hope this list is helpful. We can’t wait to go back again one day….
