It is hard to imagine Barcelona without Antoni Gaudi, the famous architect whose crazy, creative work seems to be everywhere in Barcelona. I fell in love with his work the first time I came here many years ago. And I fell in love again with it this time around. Behind the creative chaos are logic and rational planning, albeit a little extravagance.
We spent a good chunk of the day at Park Guell yesterday. The curved seats that snakes through the square of the park is my favorite with colorful mosaic collages made of broken tiles livening up each seat. I also love the massive columns that support this structure below. Gaudi’s designs are just so out there, with flamboyance, vision and imagination unlike any other architect.
