52 Weeks, Week 31
Weekly snapshots of my girls and life in general in 2015
It’s hard to believe we have less than two weeks here in Normandy. Every year is always bittersweet as we get ready to pack up and close the house for the year. Aside for a few relatives who stay a weekend or so during the year in the house, most of time it sits vacated until our return the following summer.
Don’t get me wrong; we are excited to see our friends and family in the US but we’re always sad to leave our lives, our summer selves, here. What marks my weeks the most here are the relative lack of structure to our days, the joie de vivre that the French incorporate in many aspects of their lives, and personally for me, the triumph of conversing in French without any major hiccups or bloopers.
This week, as well as the previous one, are when the girls and I are usually alone at the house. The girls usually go to summer camp at this time while I do my own exploring. It has been great so far and I’m getting more comfortable with being on my own in France.
Here are some pics of the girls last week as they happily went back to Honfleur and visited their usual stomping grounds. Have a great week!
